En 2010, Joana et António ont fondé Maçanita Vinhos après avoir été invités par une famille locale du Douro qui avait entendu parler de ces frère et sœur vignerons, à la fois espiègles et ambitieux. Tous deux contribuent à l’aventure de Maçanita Vinhos, mais la vallée du Douro, exigeante, est depuis le début le projet de cœur de Joana. Joana et ses enfants ont même déménagé dans la région de Porto afin de se rapprocher de la cave et des vignobles. S’enraciner dans la région lui a permis de canaliser son énergie légendaire vers le développement de sa carrière viticole dans le Douro, une véritable étoile montante. Antonio a été nommé vigneron de l’année en 2018, producteur de l’année en 2021 et vigneron de l’année en 2026.

In 2010, Joana and António founded Maçanita Vinhos after an invitation from a local Douro family who had read about these playful and ambitious sibling winemakers. Both siblings contribute to Maçanita Vinhos, but the challenging Douro Valley has been Joana’s passion project since the start, and Joana and her children even moved to the Porto area to be closer to the winery and vineyards. Setting down roots in the region has allowed her to focus her famous energy into expanding the rising star that is her Douro career.Antonio has been named Winemaker of the Year 2018 and 2026 and Producer of the Yera in 2021.
